Summary

PDFit has browser tools and a separate hosted API. Their document-processing and privacy properties differ; this policy identifies which applies before you use either service.

Browser tools: local processing

The editor, browser merger, compressor, and converter process selected files in your browser. These browser tools do not upload document contents to PDFit's API. Files remain in browser memory while you use a tool; the original remains on your device unless you choose a download.

Hosted API: uploaded processing

The PDFit API is a separate, hosted service. When an API client sends PDFs to an API endpoint, those files are uploaded for server-side processing and the API returns the result. Do not use the hosted API for documents that must remain solely on your device.

The current merge endpoint parses uploaded files in memory for that single request, returns a response with a no-store cache directive, and does not write document contents to storage, logs, or any later request. PDFit does not provide document storage or document recovery through the API. Cloudflare, the hosting provider, processes requests to deliver them and may retain ordinary technical request metadata such as status codes under its own policies.

Website data

The browser tools do not require an account and do not intentionally collect document content, PDF metadata, or document telemetry. Your browser may retain ordinary technical data such as cached website assets. The API does not record document content.

Third-party services

PDFit currently does not include advertising or analytics scripts in the PDF tool. If those services are added later, this policy will be updated before they are enabled to describe cookies, measurement, advertising, and opt-out choices. Donation links in the page footer open PayPal in a new tab; PayPal processes that visit under its own privacy policy.
