Use of the service

PDFit provides browser-based PDF tools and a separate hosted API. You may use the available services for lawful purposes and in compliance with applicable laws and third-party rights.

Local processing

Browser tools process PDFs in your browser. You are responsible for keeping backup copies of important files and for reviewing downloaded results before relying on them. Files you send to the hosted API are uploaded for server-side processing.

Hosted API

The hosted API processes files sent to its endpoints; sending a file to the API is an upload. API availability, endpoints, and limits may change without notice. The merge endpoint is free to use: there is no payment, account, or API key. Uploaded files are parsed in memory for the single request and are not stored, and no document-recovery service is provided, so keep a copy of the returned file.

Limitations

PDF compatibility depends on the file and your browser. Flattened compression converts pages to images and removes selectable text, links, forms, and vector semantics. Features marked “Coming soon” are not currently available.

Availability

PDFit is provided on an availability basis and may be updated, limited, or temporarily unavailable. Donations through the footer link are voluntary and are handled by PayPal under its own terms. No account, storage service, or document-recovery service is provided.
